Jerome Lynch KC

Mr. Jerome Lynch is based in Cloisters Chambers London but he is currently working with Trott & Duncan in Bermuda undertaking a number of important “political” trials – having appeared inter alia for the former premier Hon. Dr Ewart Brown and others at the Commission of Inquiry and now criminal investigation, the former Minister for Natural Resources Hon. McAllister (Piper) Hanchell in the Turks and Caicos Islands on charges of corruption, bribery and money laundering and most recently advising individual members of the Virgin Islands in relation to the current problems being experienced there.  His practice includes, defending in all serious crime, particularly geared to white-collar offences, fraud, corruption, tax evasion, Company breaches, blackmail, manslaughter and murder, “honour killings” and “terrorist” offences. Mr. Lynch’s work often necessitates cross-border involvement with law enforcement agencies in particular with the USA and more recently Switzerland.

Mr. Lynch is also currently engaged in a number of significant public law cases seeking judicial review and constitutional relief from the excessive actions of the state.  He is currently regularly instructed for my advice as he is deemed to have a  common-sense practical approach to what may appear difficult legal problems. Mr. Lynch’s work takes him throughout the Caribbean and elsewhere having been called to the Bar in the UK, Ireland, Bermuda, TCI, BVI and Cayman. He is registered to receive work by direct access in the UK.

Mr. Lynch conducted training in advocacy, ethics and case presentation for Lincoln’s Inn and has taught lawyers in UK, Jamaica, TCI, Mauritius and Bermuda in both civil and criminal matters. He is regularly invited to speak at law conferences around the world.

Mr. Lynch has also served as a local councilor in Surrey, England for 11 years as a non-aligned independent member primarily involved in planning and legal disputes on the councils behalf in the 90’s and noughties.
